The tour
Our Coppersmiths tour is a full day trip exploring 2 beautifully located distilleries with unique spirits for you to experience. Travelling to the Trossachs National Park, with plenty of stunning scenery on the way. We will have opportunity for a stop for lunch or shopping and then onto arguably the most unique historic distillery in Scotland. Our return journey takes an alternative route giving opportunity for more beautiful scenery and historic landmarks along the way.
Our first stop is Glenturret Distillery where we will take a tour of the distillery with an experienced tour guide. This is the oldest working distillery in Scotland today and has just undergone a beautiful renovation of the visitor centre, and restaurants. Set in the Perthshire countryside, the distillery holds on vigorously to its artisan roots, producing beautifully handcrafted whiskies with traditional methods.
From here, we make our way north into the gateway to the highlands and the little Victorian town of Pitlochry. We will stop in town for a chance for some lunch at one of the many cafes and restaurants, a refreshment in a local pub, a visit to some of the many traditional shops or a short walk around town or down by the river. We will then visit and tour at the beautiful and historic Blair Atholl, the brand home of Bell’s whisky, they also have a fine Blair Atholl single malt. The tour includes a tutored tasting of 3 whiskies.
We then make our way back to Edinburgh and the end of our tour where you will be dropped at your hotel or chosen location before saying goodbye.

Our journey will take us past some of Scotland’s most amazing locations. Starting in Edinburgh in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle, standing watch over Scotland’s capital, there has been evidence of a fort on the rock since the iron age around 1200 BC, this is the most besieged location in Britain. We leave the city and before long we are in Scotland’s wide-open space. We will pass the amazing Steel structure The Kelpies built in 2014, they stand proudly in Helix park and are clearly visible from the road. We will pass Stirling castle and the Bannockburn battle site, these are locations of much bloodshed in Scotland’s history.
Our return journey will take us back on a different route where we will see the 3 bridges crossing the river forth. We will cross over the recently constructed Queensferry crossing with clear views across to the Forth Road Bridge and the historic landmark and UNESCO world heritage site, Forth Bridge. This bridge has been carrying rail passengers and freight continuously since it opened in 1890 and continues to do so today.
